Bicycle riding has had a major resurgence as of late. People across the country have rediscovered this time honored past time. Especially with the growing popularity in electric bikes, there usefulness has increased as well. People are using bicycles to replace vehicles more and more. If you fall into this category and use your bike for commuting or even trips to the grocery store, your going to need something to handle the extra cargo. Adding a cargo rack to any bike can enhance it’s versatility. However, with so many options, it’s hard to choose the right one.
After hours of scrolling through the many different types, I ordered the Dirza rear bike rack. My criteria was this, easy to install, be compatible with any attachment, and could handle a lot of weight. I intended to use my cargo rack for multiple applications. If I was going to the grocery store I wanted the ability to attach a pannier or use it as a seat to add a passenger.
Many of the racks I looked at could not handle over 55lbs. If I was going to add a passenger, primarily one of my children, it had to handle more than this. The Dirza claimed to have a weight limit of 115lbs. This quality alone made it a top contender.
This rack was very easy to install, it took me under 15 minutes. It came with all the necessary parts and I did not have to modify my bike at all. It will fit a bike as large as 27.5.
Another nice quality of this rack is the quick release mount at the seat post. Not many others have this feature. This carrier rack is made of quality aluminum alloy and is lightweight. If you have to lift you bike for any reason, it’s not going to add much to the overall weight of your bike. It also includes a rear reflector and a cargo net. Both of those items have come in handy.
I found the quality to be very good and it has only enhanced the look of my bike as well. So far I have covered both flat road and off road trails and it has remained sturdy with no rattling at all. I was able to take my kid for a ride, which she loved, as well as handle some bags from the grocery store with ease. I will be using this bike a lot more after installing this rack because I am no longer limited.
